Pick up this little gem for $5 at a garage sale, along with a Minolta MC-ROKKOR-PF 58mm f/1.4 for $10.

Now here are lens chart and landscape stills of this lens vs. the Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM lens at 24mm (just for comparison). My initial thoughts were that the Canon will win even thought it's a f/4 zoom...but I was pleasantly surprised.

Still landscape tests:

ISO 100, f/11, 1/60th sec. 21MP RAW with all in camera settings at neutral. Processed with LR2 with zero NR and Sharpening, 10% contrast, and slight EV adjustments, exported to 100% jpeg

Thanks, our two close neighborhoods have two garage sales per year...I hit them both...most of the time nothing comes up.
