Yes indeed I was. Not smart considering that a Manfrotto tripod is made of light weight metal. However, the majority of my neighbors are military like myself. I had all the confidence in the world that should something bad happen that I would be taken care of. So here's the story...

Cil was driving to her house from my apartment in this storm. Earlier she asked me to install new brake pads on her car. I also had a glamour/fetish photo shoot to do with a friend who also came over that day. I was so excited to use the skills I learned from Tracy Hicks Glamour Workshop on this model. After I fixed Cil's brakes and washed the grease off my hands, the storm was just rolling in. Cill had to get home of course and I went banana's about this storm that I told my model that I'll shoot her after the storm rolls by. I figured it was gonna rain me out anyway. My neighbors upstairs let me thru their back porch which has access to the rooftop. From there I was in hog heaven, quite surprised that it did not rain at all. It's amazing how exciting a lightning storm can be. I was so excited that I didn't think about my own safety until 45 minutes later when the storm rolled away.

Patience...more patience than anything else. I bounced around between f/2.8, f/8 and f/16 at either 15 to 30 seconds on a tripod. I didn't do bulb becuase I don't have a remote. That's next on my list.

Yep. I sent an e-mail to the Chief Photographer of the Killeen Herald and asked if he'd like one of the shots and I also asked what the requirement is. I submitted the top photo as a 8x10 300 dpi jpg. I'm still shocked they printed it as a 2x3 in color.
I was expecting a B&W thumbnail.
