Either/or September 12-13.
Murph expressed interest in Luling-Lockart. I would like to re-visit Zedler's Mills in Luling with leaves on the trees.
Michael (iCe) mentioned a painted church and some other stuff in his neighborhood-Weimar. I have some film boxes for him.
It's been awhile since the Houston folks had a good road trip.
Opinions? Ideas? Better ideas? What say ye???????????

Luling's pretty far for a day trip, especially since it means the light will be crappy by the time you get there. Or would it be a leave in the afternoon, stay till dark outing?
Weimar might not be too bad a drive.

You can get to Luling when the light is good...leave Katy at 4:30. I'm kidding! Afternoon could work at the Mills.
Columbus is closer. We haven't been to Columbus yet.
Photographing Texas at High Noon in the summer is getting to be a habit of mine.

Sign me up! | OK, then I guess I'll either hope for overcast weather. Or if we're going to shoot under the noon sun I guess I could use my IR camera.
OK I'll propose one of two possibilities:
1) Leave early, drive to Weimar and shoot in that area during the morning hours. Get some lunch and drive home.
2) Drive to Luling in the early afternoon, shoot late afternoon hours there. Maybe find some place to shoot in the evening on the way back towards Houston (maybe even Weimar). Plan on getting home pretty late.

You know, Luling might be the furthest west I ever get to take pictures... I can't promise yet that I'm available, but I may just drive out early Saturday morning and come back late Saturday night. If it's like one of our other outings, the group will form and reform along the way.
Besides, Luling's not *that* far... at least, not to someone who goes to San Antonio for lunch...

I drove to New Braunfels for an auction. Arrived before the auction house opened at 8am. I should have stopped at Luling instead. I didn't know about Luling at the time.
Gruene isn't too far for an all day trip.

My family's from Lockhart and I've spent a lot of time there. Love Luling too; would like to get to know Weimer better besides just driving through. There's a ton of stuff going on for me on the 12th, and I would love to take this trip with y'all. Is the weekend after that even a possibility?
I could show y'all around Lockhart and take you to one of the 3 best BBQ places this side of Llano... eh? Whaddaya say? | | | |

My goofy schedule won't allow another photo road trip until Oct 10-11 & 24-25. Don't let me stop y'all. We were sent to a BBQ place on the north end of an overpass in a town north of Luling? Or on the edge of Luling? A new, giant barn of a place with fire pits in the back and the BBQ served in brown butcher paper. I won't be going back to that one. Quote:

Is Saturday the 12th better than Sunday the 13th?
