Thanks for posting the pics Wayne, some inspiration for sure. I'll miss Houston area but I'm sure I'll find some new venues out that direction.
Make sure and let me know when you are settled in! It would be great to meet up!

There is always something to photograph...the question is , do you like to photograph it? wildlife, landscape, etc. In that area, you can see for miles, and I'm talking miles!!!!! Yes the scenery is more like desert scenery, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything to photograph...I would take your camera...It's very different from Houston.

The Monahans sand dunes have been mentioned. It is around 38 miles or so from Odessa which in West Texas speak is just up the block. Continuing in Monahans there is the Million Barrel oil tank remnant/museum. Aerial view of Million Barrel tank Monahans Texas

They have a Million Barrel Trade Days, don't know anything about them though.

Hey y'all I'm making a trip to Texas with my wife in a few weeks and Midland is on the top of my list to visit! With a camera of course... When your from the leafy green UK, West TX looks simply stunning. Hope to bump into a few fellow photographers on our travels, so please feel free to get in touch.

Cheers
Ben
