I've lived in Lubbock for two years and have never seen any out here.

I was afraid of that. I lived there 26 years and never saw any either. I was hoping over the last 5 years something had changed:)

Ditto. I lived there for over 10 years and never saw a single bluebonnet until I moved to Austin.

ETA: I always wondered why there weren't any there. The climate isn't that much different but I guess just too dry up north?

You could take some pics around here of the bluebonnets then green screen it in. If you find any blue bonnets in west texas it would have to be the wetest spring in history, you could get a great sunset shot or some blowing sand, maybe a couple thousand tumbleweeds in a 40mph gale wind from the west. Have you been to west Texas before?

Yes I have been there. That is where I was born and raised and still go there several times every year. When I lived there though I never had a need to look for bluebonnets. I just didn't know if there was something I was missing:)

I just got back from San Antonio and there are several fields of bluebonnets in Sweetwater. That's two hours south of Lubbock.

That's a little disheartening. I've lived in the DFW area almost my whole life and LOVE the bluebonnets every year. We're moving out to Lubbock in a few months. Sad I won't get to see them. =(

LOL. I might just have to! We're starting a vineyard so I might just have to steal some of the irrigation and grow a flower garden!

I don't know but it probably is to cold and dry here for bluebonnets to survive but it may be worth a try.
