I have lived in East Texas my entire life (46 years) and just now have I discovered the beauty of Caddo Lake. This photo was taken on my first trip there last week.

Well how was this photo overlooked? Cool picture.

Since you're from that area, is March a good time to visit Caddo Lake? We were thinking of going there over spring break.

I don't know about Spring. We were there a little late for good fall shots. The colors were already fading.

Right now some things are just beginning to bloom. I haven't been out to the lake, but I live not that far away. My redbuds are blooming, the daffodils are in full swing, and the bradford pear just finished.

Caddo will be along those same lines.
Really almost any time is good for shooting out at Caddo. I have been there in winter and summer.

Since spring break just finished for our kids....I am guessing you already had yours by now.

Yes, we had ours last week but weren't able to get down that way. I have another photographer friend from here who went a few weeks ago and talked to a local guide who said May and June were the best times to go. Still planning to do it some day...

We were at Caddo Lake in May and it was beautiful. We plan on going back in October some time.
