Before it was renamed to the "Reunion Grounds" to be more politically correct. This pavaillion dates from the late 1800's, it's top section has original construction and wood still there, the botttom has been modernized a bit due to necessity.

The area has a lot of history to it - look up Col. Humphreys and the Mexia Oil Boom -- he did a lot of building at the Reunion Grounds, some evidence of which is still present, along with the annual Reunion of the Confederate Soldiers, also a great time for all the local politicians to address their constituents ;)
