Anyone been there? I was thinking of going there on Saturday with my daughter and checking it out. It's only a little over an hour from us. Is it worth my time?

So no one has been there? Well I guess we'll check it out then and hopefully be able to share some pics.

Several times... very nice area for waterfowl... you can drive around through the oil roads to get out into the middle of it all... there's a nce little swamp back past the boat ramp/picnic area

I have been three times. Not worth the effort for me.

I used to frequent Hagerman, it's about 1 and 1/2 hours from where i live. You best bet is around later Nov and Jan during snow geese migration, the numbers could get up to thousands strong. There are waterfowls and song birds, birders would love it but not bird photographers; you can't get the distance and low level perspective. Also, I've seen wild turkey, bobcat, deers, boars, and coyote at rare occasion.

My late visits to Sherman were mostly Denison Dam instead. It's probably one of the best place for pelicans in flight when they release the water.

Not worth it for me...

I love hagerman, go anytime I get the chance. This time of year lots of snow geese and waterfoul. I went searching for the pelicans a few weeks ago and not many around. Some of my shots recently:

Thanks everyone! I think we'll go anyway and explore a new place. Should be beautiful this weekend.
