St. Joseph's - Lubbock? - 05-30-2011, 09:52 PM

Hi friends...

Just thought I'd see if anyone had shot in St. Joseph's in Lubbock. I have a wedding down there this weekend, and being in Dallas, I haven't been able to scout it out! I've been told the only restrictions are no photographs during the eucharist and that there's a room where we can shoot the front of the church, but other than that - not much guidance...

Anyone with experience to share?

Just wanted to provide an update...

The priest told us they had no problem with flash and we could shoot from anywhere we needed to, so long as we weren't on the altar. The room off the altar provided a FANTASTIC angle, but a second priest kicked my second shooter out during the ceremony, despite being told it was okay. No big deal - we made it work, and the images we did get of them from that angle were GORGEOUS.

Even with all the lights up, it's pretty dark - don't even consider shooting with anything less than a 2.8. They didn't have a problem with flash, but we didn't use it. (All the guests did though - it felt like the papparazzi was present.)

Aside from the small communication problem, they were very agreeable and we were able to get some great shots from the balcony and the front of the church.

Hope this helps someone in the future. :)
