Well as a new comer to Texas (well, if you consider 6 years, new), I have a butt load of assignments on the agenda, however I have always wanted to shoot some of Texas's famous wildflowers, specifically Bluebonnets, Paintbrushes, ect.

Last year was a bust due to the drought, however this year looks good with all of the wet weather we have had. I live in the Houston area and plan on trips to nearby Brenham, Chappell Hill and likely as far west as Burnet. What I am looking for are farms, rusted farm equipment/autos, livestock, dilapidated buildings, well you get the idea, things that will give the flowers more depth and an interesting backdrop or foreground. I am willing to venture as far north as that other metro area in Texas.......Dallas/Ft Worth .

So any advice, tips, suggestions are welcome and appreciated

Thanks

Marty

This site has a lot of TX wildflower info. Once they start blooming, people will chime in with good spots. The maps have some info about interesting backdrops, such as, railroads, etc.
