Rain Clouds and Bending Trees - 04-24-2005, 01:06 PM

The high prevailing winds cause the trees to have a natural bend to them in the Panhandle. I took this today right after sunrise.

You're really good at capturing the sky with different lighting. I like it.

LOL! Not at all, DeLeon. I was with her on that one, and it was East of town. We just drove south of I-40 on Tiltrotor Drive. Yes, the pavement ends, but we don't need no steenkink pavement! ;)

Another good place to shoot is the swampy area just East of Washington on Sundown Lane. It's about 1/4 mile off Washington, and you'll find Avocets, Cattle Egrets, Herons, Hawks, Killdeer, Redwinged Blackbirds galore, and a bird we haven't ID'd yet - has the upper half of its chest/breast a vivid yellow. Birds galore! :)

You might try on 9th street just west of Soncy. Have you seen the parasailing, near Randall High? There's always Thompson Park, Eakle park, Southeast park, and I could go on and on.

There are photo-ops everywhere! :)
