I shot a picture for a magazine assignment of the same windmill and cistern except their was an ultra-marathoner running past. That's a cool spot.

It is a cool spot. The entire canyon is a cool spot. It took a little while to find an angle that left out most of the powerline (to the right) and I wished the windmill had been turned toward me a little...

PS- It's been good to see you posting...

It's in the park. At the beginning of the Givens, Spicer, & Lowry running trail.

I didn't have time to hike any of the trails. I would have liked to have seen Lighthouse Peak but it was after 5pm when I went into the park.

Due to a lot of rain in August, the water crossings were over 4' and the first campground close to the amphitheater was flooded and the park has been closed past the #2 water crossing, but it may be open again now. The weeds are probably 6' tall now due to the 8 - 10" of rain in August. You were there when it was pretty dry so it should look a lot different now. I am going to try and get down there, if it is open, and get a shot of what it looks like now. I think it will be quit a bit different. With the lush growth of careless weed and ragweed, my hay fever will have a field day!

Wow... We could have used some of that rain down here. I'll keep an eye out for your images.

I hope you don't mind. I played with your image a little to see if I could get some more detail out of the dark areas. I went pretty fast so it's not as good as it could be but I was able to brighten it up a little...

Hmm... seeing it on the screen here it doesn't look much better. A little lighter but not as much as I could have made it. I didn't want to push it but I guess I was too conservative...

Wow... those are nice. I wish that TP&W would do something with those powerlines. I tried to dodge them when I was there and it made for less of an image than I wanted.

5'... that's amazing. I'll bet the hole I found (along with everyone else) is completely washed out now. It's over by a bike trail... further back on the west side of the park.
