I think it may be a term that is specific to photoshop as a filter that you can apply to a photo that has the ability to recognize edges and make them stand out against the background

May perhaps be wise not to do ghost towns solo. Be best with someone riding shotgun.
Relative had a scary moment a few years back while scouting out ghost towns to do headstone rubbings. The town went from dead silence to motorcycles starting and roaring. They then appeared en mass from behind derelict buildings, streamed past her follow the leader style. I have find my iPhone activated should the family go into their where is he now mode.

Here are a few pics I took at Glenrio. The first is looking down the old highway in Glenrio. I just had to make it B&W. The second is the motel. The sign used to say "The Last Motel In Texas from this angle. The third is "The First Motel In Texas" side. The "F" is still there. The last is the Glenrio, NM Post Office - just down from the Glenrio, Texas PO.

Very cool thread. I have also been to Glenrio and it is very photogenic. I did the full route 66 a few years ago and boy, do you get to see some ghost towns! I'll try post some pics in a gallery later...

Cheers
Ben
