first methodist church here in abilene is in a building mood, bur unfortunely the old girl must come down to make room for the new! pity really the chapel has been here longer than i have it was quite a beautiful building i am sadden by it's demise!

It's a shame. I hate to see old buildings go. Abilene does a pretty good job of hanging on to historic buildings. I hope something good happens with vacant Lincoln Middle School, the majestic former Abilene High, built on the railroad tracks in the 1920's with gargoyles as ornaments. The town father's wanted everyone coming through town to see the extravagant high school, and think that Abilene would be a good place to settle.
