"Fun" is in the eye of the beholder. I am about 30 minutes away but have gone there for the train museum and the Hindu Temple. Shots of both are on TPF and you can Google it as well.

Andy's right, not a whole lot goin on here, but the Train Museum is pretty cool, if you don't mind drivng around, there are some pretty cool little spots, Summers Mill, Salado, and Austin is only about an hour or so just down IH35, its an easy drive. Feel free to msg me a couple of weeks out and I will do some research to see if there are any events or festivals while you are here...

anything ew in temple?? I am giong in 2 weeks for a 4 day class but i will have some time my first day there to browse around

Like the previous posters said, you can try out the Railroad Heritage Museum. There are several museums in Waco, including the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum and the Dr. Pepper Museum. Waco also has the Cameron Park Zoo, if that sort of thing interests you.
