Question Bridal Locations in Lubbock? - 11-18-2008, 11:00 PM

I'm heading to Lubbock in a few weeks for a Bridal shoot. The client has yet to let me know if any locations that she would like to have her bridals taken. Does anyone know of any good locations, keeping in mind that it's going to be December?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Tommy,
Jo's right. Some awesome architecture at Tech to shoot in. Nice small lake out at Buffalo Springs and nearby Ransom Canyon has some rugged canyon views. Clapp Park (off University) has some areas up against a small lake/pond that can be nice at different times of the year. Finally, the Texas Tech Museum and Planetarium has a great sloped brick column and small water feature in front that could be cool. If they are into western/country, the Ranching Heritage Center is attached to the museum and has dozens of locations around original 19th century buildings and windmills.
Hope this helps a little. :-)

Thanks, this definitely helps out A LOT and I plan on checking them all out. I like my clients to come up with their own locations, but I like to have a few of my own in mind in case something like this happens. I only hope that it's not too cold, but it is NW Tx. What else can I expect.

For future reference, in case anyone wants to take pictures at Ransom Canyon, there is a $50 fee to shoot in the "garden", and a $50 fee to shoot in the church. Also, you need to schedule a shoot out there in advance sign a contract for "liability" purposes. I thought it was a little high, considering a) the time of year and b) the amount of time I needed to shoot there. This is only for the area near the church and the church itself, I'm sure there are other places to shoot in the area, but I just wanted others to be aware.

Another good place if you are looking for something unusal is the wind power musuem. I have seen several shots from weddings out there and they are beautiful. Tech is by far the best place for pics though.

+1 for Tech.....expecially the Engenerring building near red raider avenue....and older dorms near the front of the campus broadway ave...also you can do a shoot down the main drag....university ave and broadway avenue..

Some really cool shots would be just outside of town on HWY 87 out in the middle of the plowed cotton fields...if it is snowing it would be an awesome sight...since the area is so flat....you could do a really nice bohek shot their...

You can head down to the Depot District downtown and get some nice textures, too. Then stop in for a quick brew if you get too cold.

December in Lubbock can be wackier than in normal places!

Amazingly, it wasn't too cold up there this last weekend. I was expecting the temp to be somewhere in the 40's but it was in the mid to upper 60's. Go figure. I'll try to post some pics from there. Mind you the vegetation is bare. I def like the idea of the Depot District, I was hoping the bride would go for something like that.
