You first catch a glimpse of the Queen of Peace from a couple of miles away but don’t realize until later that there’s no pointed spire…Perhaps there wasn't
enough money in the budget, perhaps it was destroyed in a wandering hurricane, perhaps it was the original design...it’s not unlike the 13th century Northumberland church at Ilderton...
Completed in 1920, the exterior brickwork in it’s geometric simplicity is, well,
comforting, like an old friend.
