Mr Jim, this is in case you're wondering if it's worth a trip over there...yep.

We made it out to Lavaca County this past weekend (before I forget, they are lighting the courthouse on the 29th)...Sweet Home, Koerth, and St. Marys...

You first catch a glimpse of the Queen of Peace from a couple of miles away but don’t realize until later that there’s no pointed spire…Perhaps there wasn't
enough money in the budget, perhaps it was destroyed in a wandering hurricane, perhaps it was the original design...it’s not unlike the 13th century Northumberland church at Ilderton...

Completed in 1920, the exterior brickwork in it’s geometric simplicity is, well,
comforting, like an old friend.

I'm still trying to figure out how to get a good inside shot but here are a couple of samples so you can get an at least an idea of what's inside...
