East Texas Photo Club - 12-13-2008, 04:50 AM

I wanted to see if there is any interest in forming a photography club in the Marshall area. I have talked to a few people who would like to see this happen; is there anyone on the forum that would be interested?

I'm too far away to attend meetings. I've thought of joining the Tyler Club if they have some good outings. I reckon the same would apply to a Marshall based club. Keep me posted.

ps: Y'all need an open mind. I make photographs with silver.

Thanks for expressing an interest; I hope others do as well. This area is rich with possible outings suck as Caddo Lake, Scottsville Cemetery, and the T&P Rail Road Depot.

While we wait for the club to come about, would you mind sharing the locations of the cemetary & train depot? I'll have 10 days at Christmas and a bunch of film to ruin.

Scottsville Cemetery is East of Marshall on FM 1998, just east of FM 2199. The depot is at the North end or North Washington St in Marshall.

Thanks! I'll try to make it over to Marshall during the holidays. Maybe I'll finally get a famous Bubba burger on the way back.

I'm from Marshall... but I now live in Dallas. I still think you should do it. I hear Mauldin is not in the business anymore.

I found the Scottsville Cemetary and I finally, after too many years of driving past, stopped in downtown Marshall. I will be going back with ALL of my cameras.

I live in Gary which is about 10 miles south of Carthage. I'd be interested in exploring the possibility of maybe a monthly meeting and maybe some weekend outings. Let's keep the idea alive.

btw, The burgers at Central Perks on N. Washington in Marshall are to die for! I had the bacon-onions-swiss burger. It's worth a trip. The photo oportunities around downtown looked to almost as good as the burgers!

I have several people who are interested in the idea. I will work on setting a meeting date after the first of the year.

Not a great deal. To tell you the truth I had forgotten I even started this thread. But I will contact the others that expressed an interest and see what we can make happen.

Robert, Why not try it. Just plan an outing and see who is interested. Some might even come from a distance to join you guys.
