Boarding up - Aggie Style - 09-26-2005, 12:52 PM

I'm not an Aggie - didn't go to school in Texas - but I saw this in the Chronicle and found it kind of funny.

Having lived in Florida, I know the right way to board up a house for a hurricane is NOT like this. I saw neighbors here do it right, I saw some just put some 2x6 in a cross pattern in front of the windows, but I've never seen anything like this.

I guess it's to keep the plywood dry!

Just providing a link to the pic since it's not mine!

That is funny. And if you notice, they did not board up one of the doors. Must have needed a way out of the place.

Both my brother-in-law and father-in-law are Aggies. I sent it to them and got a good chuckle. In fact my BIL said that wasn't hurricane protection, just to keep the Aggies in the bookstore from running into the glass on the way out

I'm from California and don't quite get the Aggie/Longhorn thang... My school had surfing and frisbee teams, so I guess that stands to reason

Hehe.... I'm kind of a weird Aggie. Wasn't into football, or any sport, but when I went to a game, my favorite part was doing the yells. My least favorite part was standing the entire time, oh how I hated that. But I love that our mascot is a dog because I am a dog freak. It enables the school to have a living breathing mascot without confining a wild animal! Oh and I like not having cheerleaders.
