Big Bend March 14

I am going to Big Bend National Park March 14-18 or 19 or as long as I want to stay! Any other TPFers going this time of year? I would appreciate any 'must see' areas, as this will be my first visit to Big Bend.

Do whatever hikes you can in the Chisos (Window, Emory, etc.). Santa Elena, Hot Springs and the Balanced Rock at Grapevine Hills are also good places to see outside of the Chisos. The weather will be either mild hot or cold, so prepare for all 3. You are going during the busy season, so if you are planning to camp in the Chisos I hope your arrangements have been made as it is often full-up in March.

Oh yeah, drive whatever roads you can with your vehicle, be they paved or offroad with a 4x4; it's a great way to see the park. Just drive prepared.

As in all National Parks, get as far away from pavement as you can.

Hey Trudy, looks like you got some keepers.

My wife and I were planning to go camping there but we waited far too late and we were not going to be guaranteed a site. I love Big Bend and I'm happy to see somebody else got an opportunity to enjoy it this year.
