Arlington Camera ROCKS

Had a problem with my 5D's sensor that was scary enough that I was afraid it was scratches... started with dust.. tried to remove with Rocket Blower.. tried to remove streaks that appeared with Sensor Swabs... well, the whole story is here:

http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=52545

The folks at Arlington Camera helped me solve this today by helping clean the sensor properly .. saving me an expensive repair at Canon (cause you know they would have charged me big time even if all it needed was a proper cleaning).. even showed me how to do it myself in the future.

Thanks, Arlington Camera. You've gained another customer for life!

Following the cleaning instructions is pretty straight forward. What did they do differently?

I also saw in your other post that possibly condensation in the rocket blower helped start this. I guess it would be a good habit to squeeze it a few times before pointing it at the camers or lens.

Thanks!

That's cool -- it's a shame that good customer service is becoming so rare these days. I really do file this type of stuff away in the back of my mind for future reference. I always make a very big point of highly praising the places that go above & beyond when it comes to customer service. I also make it a very, very big point of letting everyone know when I've received bad service. I think that kind of word of mouth really is very important.

I thought the cleaning instructions were pretty straightforward, too.. but what I did just made it worse.... so I bow to experts. LOL
