Decided to go for something easy this month... and a subject that (I think) is dear to all of us.
Your assignment this month: Texas
Icons of Texas, Scenes of Texas, Flags of Texas .. doesn't matter as long as your image says "Texas"
I'll start with the one I posted the other day..

Well this is an easy one for me. I just had these two photographs hung in the lobby of the Scarborough Building here in Austin at 6th St. and Congress Ave. as part of an Austin themed exhibit. The Scarborough Building was Austin's first "skyscraper", built in 1910. Skyscraper as in 8 floors. These are my entries that were chosen. They were both taken the same day on a TPF get together at the capitol.

My entry in the recent TPF print exchange.
Slightly less obvious.

Great Tom and Wayne...
Heh, so much for the idea that this would be an easy assignment.. surely these can't be the only submissions.

I just posted this picture in another thread asking about what type image is suitable for printing on pearl/metallic paper. I think this available light portrait is suitable for this June assignment thread also.
My wife Lori sits waiting for her cheeseburger and beer at the world famous Dixie Chicken in College Station, Texas. I met her there on Texas Independence Day, March 2, 1978. At that time "the Chicken", as it's better known, was a lot smaller and only served beer, saltines, cheese and jalapeños. People often ask where we met and I tell them "at a beer joint". When they give me that puzzled look I follow it up with "the Chicken" and they say "Ahhh, OK".

This is more snapshot, but I didn't have a tall enough ladder to get a higher perspective. Also, we don't see Sam in many shots here. | | | |

Texas Style! This one would have turned out better had I not been on the back of a Harley going 50+ mph.
