Contest?

Hey guys.. I was wondering if you thought we'd get more activity on the assignment threads if we had a weekly competition with it?

My concept would be this: Topics would be posted up to 6 weeks in advance.. A given topic would begin when the message was posted.. say "#26: Halloween" .. that topic would stay open for one week before a poll would be added for people to vote.. (and the next subject started.. #27 in our example).. the poll would remain open for one week, at the end of that, a "winner" would be declared... they would receive a "no prize" for their win. :)

What do you think?

Good idea. This way we(I) could get an idea if people like my pictures. Six weeks seem a bit long. 3 weeks sound good with a week of voting. IMO

Sorry.. you misunderstood what I said.. I meant that you would have knowledge of the next contest subject before it became open for entries... basically, I'd publish a list that said:

9/1-9/8: Work
9/9-9/15: Green
9/16-9/22: Round and Round

and so on...

During the 9/9-9/15 week, I'd post that Green is now open (all submissions would be made on that thread).. and Work would be in the voting process... then on 9/16, Round and Round would be open, Green would be voting, and the winner for Work would be announced.
