August Assignment: Monochromatic - 08-02-2007, 04:44 PM

Wow.. the first just slipped right past me... and I've even known what I was going to do for the assignment for a week or two....

Your August assignment:

Monochromatic

Please note that this does not necessarily mean B&W images, although they would surely fit... but a real challenge would be to post color images that fit the theme.... stretch those imaginations and let's shoot!

This might be way off from what your looking to get out of this exercise but here it is.

---------------------------
| Canon EOS 7D | 24-70mm f/2.8L | 75-300 F/4-5.6 | 50mm f/1.8 | 580EX II | 430EX | Vanguard Tracker 3 Tripod |

Photography does not make me money, but its my escape from life and that is priceless.

How I see it - 08-04-2007, 12:52 AM

Ok - - definition as I see it - - a color scheme that uses one color and all of the tones, tints, and shades that can be derived from it.

So let me know how these few photos are and I can do more.......

Susan,

I like all the images you've posted, and having seen many other examples of your work, I think your insecurites are unfounded :)

Cindy's right, Susan.. these are nice... even the Elephant's Behind. :)

I do like the cityscape especially for this exercise... its astounding how monochromatic the big city can be.. but still have such beautiful lines and curves.

Ok, so this is a few months old but today is my third attempt at the conversion/post processing on it. I keep coming back to it and I'm still not satisfied, let me know if I should just scrap it, maybe the subject/composition is the problem. I tried going back for a reshoot but the water level had changed and there were weeds all over it.
