Need help for bridal/couple session locations! - 02-22-2011, 02:58 PM

Hello Austin Locals, I'm having a bridal/couple session this weedend in Austin and I need help finding the right location. I've narrowed it down from the places I read from previous threads, here it is:

*Bull Creek
*Mayfield Park
*Cedar Park

Which one of this Park would you guys think is suitable for a bridal/couple session? Are they "public parks" and photographer friendly? Other suggestions would be considered. Also, I staying downtown, so which one is the closest?

It doesn't have to be a park, near a lake w/ trees is good as well.
Thanks in advance!

Ha! You certainly aren't local... "Cedar Park" is a city, not a park. It has several good parks in it though. It is the farthest from downtown Austin though.

Since you are downtown - check out Town Lake, Zilker Park, and the Barton Creek Greenbelt as the closest to you. Bull creek is nice, but probably doesn't offer you anything that you can't get at the greenbelt.

Yes, Brushy Creek Lake Park is good - some of it is in Cedar Park. Or... specifically that park is NOT in cedar park, but there are about 10 miles of connected parks and about half of the trail that runs through brushy creek lake park is inside cedar park city limits.

And that park, that entire trail of parks, is good. You can do everything from grunge to green to lake out there.

If your staying downtown there are are plenty of spots just a hop, skip and jump away. Zilker park has some great spots and there is always the Botanical Gardens at Zilker Park (They do charge a fee to get it, but it isn't that much.) I love shooting at Disch Field myself and it is behind the Palmer Event Center just next to the river and south of downtown. There are beautiful views of the skyline and some points of interest worth photographing. Just my two cents... :)

Also, if your couple is looking for some funky fresh sites, the downtown, South Congress and South 1st Street offers a lot of great backdrops too!
