Abandoned Shack: North Austin

This is a discussion on Abandoned Shack: North Austin within the Austin Area Photo Locales forums, part of the Austin category; Off of CR175, there's an abandon shack that has great potential for some urban grunge/weirdness. ;) I haven't shot there ...

Off of CR175, there's an abandon shack that has great potential for some urban grunge/weirdness. ;) I haven't shot there yet, but I'm giving it some thought.

To get there, go north on CR175 (Sam Bass Road) from 1431. You'll pass Williamson County Regional Park on the right. A little ways later, this is on the left.

Is this on public property?

Honestly, not sure. There's a pullout right infront of it, no fencing around it, no designation of private property.

If you turn right on 176 there are a couple more with potential.

Yeah, there's a barn at the juncture that I know is on private property that I plan on approaching the owners about. It's accessible, but has a big ol' gate :)

If it's the one looked at on Google Maps, the picture there has vehicles parked outside of the structure.

Yep. I just looked on GM. It's the same one, but it is -no- where near in that shape. It looks like it was half demolished and abandoned a couple years ago.
