LOCALE: Laguna Gloria - 04-26-2006, 12:29 PM

Laguna Gloria is part of the Austin Museum of Art (AMOA) and located at the west end of 35th street on the way up to Mount Bonnell, next to Mayfield Park. It consists of an old mansion, now used as an art museum, surrounded by a well kept grounds. The property is located on a peninsula in Lake Austin creating a lagune on the back side of the property. The grounds are open to the public during the day and dogs are allowed on a leash. Laguna Gloria is a popular event location including weddings. The grounds include some fountains and works of art. The museum runs an art school with classes open to the public at Laguna Gloria.

Your photographs are beautiful of this location. Thanks for providing the links as well. Is photography allowed at all without paying a fee? I would like to keep this place in mind for a family portrait session if they'd allow me to shoot here.

Last time I checked, they charged a lower fee for family portraits than bridals, but still more than Zilker Botanical Gardens.
