A good trail near/in Austin to go for a walk and take nature pictures. There aren't any great views of the larger landscape
on this trail, so most photo opps will be in the details of nature. The creek will have water flowing after recent rains. This is a leash-free park so be ready for some dogs running around or bring your own. Turkey Creek is inside Emma Long Metro Park. Parking and trail access is on City Park Road after you enter Emma Long but before you need to pay to enter the grassy area near the lake.
For a great view off the cliffs above Lake Austin, hike straight west from the end of the official trail. After walking through brush and grass lands for about half a mile you will end up on top of a 400 ft cliff. See the topo map at the first link below.
