We live just down the street from this place and love it! Great photo ops, birds or not, the architecture and gardens are gorgeous too. I "covet" shooting a Hindu wedding there.

Is this a place you can just walk around and shoot? The Hindu Temple in Temple TX has great architecture and I enjoyed shooting there. But they had no grounds to speak of.

Yep: this place is more like a commune with several residents raising cut flowers, orchards, etc, and the pools in the back have gorgeous photo ops. I have never tried any commercial photography or portraits there, so I don't know their policy regarding that. I need to go down in the next little while and find out, especially if I want to advertise as a wedding photographer or do anything else out there for pay. When I find out, I'll post back here. We only live about 5 or 10 minutes from there, but with the new baby I'm sorta homebody right now, not up for drives nor client shoots!

Has anyone found out if they allow shoots here? It is amazingly beautiful. I would love to do some spring portraits here.

Nope, I called and they said photography there is totally acceptable unless for paid shoots (other than a pro covering a wedding or other event/ceremony there). No bringing in outside clients, etc.
