LOCALE: Stevie Ray Vaughan Statue

In Austin, Texas, an 8 foot statue of guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan stands on the shore of Town Lake, near Riverside Drive & South First Street (Auditorium Shores). Vaughan's fans often leave floral tributes at the base of the statue in honor of the late musician.

One of the best photos of this statue that I have seen was shot by a friend of mine. He had a very good looking young lady on a step ladder kissing SRV.

I love the reflection in the statue from the moonlight above. It's a really peaceful place near the water.

wow very nice pictures,,,stevie ray, man he was awsome not too many people could wear a pancho and play "mary had a little lamb" and be cool while he did it... i love his music,, did you know he couldnt read music, he said he played what he felt.... wow thanks for sharing the pictures ..........

Skyline is starting to get some more buildings. I really need to go get a better picture of him but there are so many cranes in the skyline these days. I used a polarizer on these. Still don't like them that much though. He is facing in a direction that really makes it hard to get a good background. Not to mention, wrong time of day when I tried these, etc. sigh.....

This was my latest attempt. This statue always seems to leave me a little disappointed! I want to try a sunset photo, but never find the time.
