Saturday June 6 is National Trails Day, so there are hiking, biking, and equestrian events occurring all over the state and the nation. I specifically want to mention Bright Leaf Nature Preserve here in Austin. If you're coming into town for the Photo Expo at the Norris Conference Center, this park is right in the neighborhood. Right off Mesa Dr. and FM2222 - check the website for detailed directions. You could get some morning exercise in with a hike before going to over to the expo, there are close to 5 miles of trail here. I am a docent at Bright Leaf, so if you want a specific photo hike, show up at 9am and look me up. These are guided hikes, so if I'm your guide, we can stop when a photo opportunity comes up. Hikes range from a half hour to 2 hours. There will be refreshments available, and some demonstrations for children.
