Mr. Will Wynn, Austin City Mayor, has proclaimed April 11, 2009 as "South Asian New Year Celebration" in Austin and plans to attend the event.

A number of local corporations like: Silicon Labs, Runtex, HEB, Home Depot, LCRA, Teji's, Shams Bazaar, etc are sponsoring the event - and there are more to come!
