Good grief, way too small of a venue for such a crowd. I sadly didn't get to talk to really anyone there. Was Precision having any good deals? I may try to sneak in tomorrow, but I get a little claustrophobic being that squished.
Looked neat though! | | | |

Francis, I'm sorry that I'm catching this thread after going to the expo. I would have stopped in and said hello. Yeah, really, there were so many people I just made a quick round of all the booths, and picked up a Lumiquest item and high tailed it out of there. Most of the goods are at a 10-20% discount from normal prices, I think that's the main reason for the event, to get us in a buying frenzy.

Spent the day there in several of the conference rooms, crowd thinned out after 3 pm, heard a few good presentations also saw a couple good uses of lights and took a spin around the vendors area and put my hands on one of the new Nikons. Will be back tommorrow but like mentioned above A LOT OF PEOPLE in a small space.
They did announce that they will do this again next year and in a larger venue. | | | |

Its buying Frenzy for those who dont know where better to shop.
Snob snob snob were the sales staff from Austin's "Only Pro" camera store.
But they wont even discount a 5DMii.
Jerry Ward of Canon showed his self rightoues way
to hold a camera and insisted everyone do it that way.
LOL

I only went on Sunday and was dissappointed that I missed Kirk's seminar (on Sat) and John Woodward's seminar was cancelled. I sat in Bill Fortney's seminar and while it was interesting about his life story, it was not technical at all. Likewise, I visited Nikon vs. Canon Q&A and it seemed more of Jerry Ward spouting stuff so I left after 10 minutes.
My only highlights were from comparing the D300 and D700 and playing with the 70-200/2.8 VR at the Nikon booth. I don't care about vignetting or softness on full frame anymore, being able to handhold 70-200 @ 200 at 1/30s while shooting ISO 6400 was bliss. The D700 will definitely be my next camera but it may take a while to save up that much. :(
