They tell me I could really use a D700 (well, want one anyway). Great shots of the capital.

Looks good, color is perfect and noise is more than acceptable.

Pretty cool!

But for me I prefer low ISO, longer exposures and a tripod for night shots, although the black sky you have is harder to get that way!

Did not have a tripod and I wanted to try out the 6400 ISO!
I say if you got, use it!

Nothing fancy an older Nikon 24-120 3.5-5.6 AF-S, but remember the D700 is full frame and low ISO! That lens is very sharp @ 5 or 5.6 +!

I will post some of Destin, FL later this week when we get there or in the next couple of days... we leave tomorrow!

thanks,
angel m. leal jr.

No I don't! Don't make me sell my 17-55 for a replacement FX version! I've struggled with this decision for months and finally decided to stick with DX for now.

I'm hoping if I wait long enough the DX cameras will catch up to the current FX ISO capabilities in a few years.

I might get mugged for saying this, but I really like the D700's high ISO capabilities. Great camera, and you made great use of it as well! Love the shots.

Very nice Angel! I loved my D700. Since moving to the D3S though... whole 'nuther level. Check out this 100% crop of a crappy test shot... at 6400... no sharpening, no noise reduction:

NOTE: This was just a fleeting glance to show someone else the ISO performance... the shot totally sucks and that's all that needs to be said.
