some pictures from Pedernale Falls State Park - 12-15-2004, 02:53 PM

A good place to go to add to whatever small birds you might find around your backyard feeder is Pedernales Falls. They have a permanent bird blind that ovelooks a feeding area where many birds as well as deer are attracted. The blind is fully enclosed with room for about 12 or more people. There is a large glass window so everyone can see and on either side of the glass are wooden walls with small portholes that can be opened allowing photographers to get their lenses through without having to take pictures through glass. If you decide to visit, be sure to enquire about the blind and don't be put off by the sign that says authorized access only. Paying your $4 and getting the entrance sticker are your authorization. Here are a few pictures I took last week and the week before:

I recognize the Tufted Titmouse, what are the other 2? I'd love to go out there when the weather warms up (and I get my new camera)

MandiB

The first one is an Eastern Towhee, and the last one is an American Goldfinch. Of course you're right about the other one.

Nice shots Luther. I'm particularly fond of the Titmouse photo.

I was out at the park last summer. I saw the bird blind on the map but never made it out there. Will have to make a point of checking it out the next time I get out there. I did however hike around the falls and take some shots there.

Here's the results from the day:

Probably my favorite of the bunch:

Greg,

Great shot of the lizard. I visited your galleries, and you have some nice work. Here's another one from the falls, but not of birds.
