Leander/ Cedar Park area - 10-14-2009, 12:43 PM

Hey all how is everyone doing? I have a client that wants some father daughter shots, but they do not want to travel far. Any good locales in that area? I've searched the Austin locale map and there really isn't much on there. Any info would be great thanks! Rob

That's where I live... what type of shots? There is a building on Anderson Mill just north of Cypress Creek that is cute - one of my clients called it a big chimenea (sp? - the outdoor chimney shaped heaters), but it works. For more natural surroundings you can do one of the parks out there - the trail head on Bagdad north of 2243 is nice. So is the Williamson County park off of Sam Bass. They even have a tiny train there (like Zilker) so you can get RR track shots without the trespassing problems.

Hey nathan, thanks for the ideas. Just a coulpe of simple family portraits outdoors. He doesn't have any of him and his daughter yet. The trail head off bagdad might be within range. I'll also check out the locale off anderson mill. Thanks for the response!

any of the stations for the Austin Steam Train Assoc (Bertram, Cedar Park) might be do-able if you don't interfere with the operations. (but please stay off the tracks, the stations are much more photogenic!)

I second the Williamson County Regional Park. It would be a good spot if you're looking for a nature (cedar) backdrop. There is not much in the way of photographic structures out there, but there is a lot of room to work with. And as mentioned before there is the miniature railway.
