Photography/photo correction/graphic design jobs in Austin? - 01-27-2010, 01:40 PM

I'm currently in Dallas, but wanting to move to Austin by the end of March/beginning of April. I've been desperately seeking a job there so there isn't a gap in my employment (and getting bills paid). I've applied at 25 jobs in the past 3 weeks with no bites. :(

I've been a production artist for 3 of the biggest advertising agencies in Dallas for the past 6 years. Along with doing that, I also did photo corrections during those employments. I've been doing photography on my own for almost 1.5 years. I have a Bachelors degree in art, with major in graphic design and minor in e-commerce.

If you know of anyone looking for some help in Austin, please let me know.

My portfolio is at:

For photo work, i can supply 2 of my flickr accounts.

I appreciate any help from you Austinites! Thanks!
Stephanie

Check out t-3 and emphatico. I know t-3 is hiring a lot and there's a production artist job on their site.

I applied at T3 for 2 or 3 of their positions within the past month. Still haven't heard a word. :(

But I'll definitely check out emphatico. Thanks!

Oh, I hope it is Enfatico, because that's where I sent my resume to. lol

I went to an Austin city forum and there was this guy that told me I was pretty much screwed. The competition was too high in the art/graphic design field in Austin because of all the grads coming out and working for dirt cheap. So now I'm freaking out that I will be one of those lost people walking the streets of Austin.

I wouldn't even mind changing my career since it feels there is no advancing in it. Maybe just anything that takes a bachelors degree and would train. Maybe I need to hit up management or sales.

Hey Stephanie, I need an assistant every now and then on my bigger jobs, but it wouldn't be anything super consistent, but maybe it'd help out???? PM me if you are interested.
