For an expert that can help me with a (I think) and calibration problem on my Mac.

Hey, I will bring my Mac to your studio.... I am so frustrated with the whole process.

Funny thing thing is if I use a calibration tool Gamma Control I can get close to what I expect from this system.

The proof that your way works with your images and mine... You solve this issue I am having and I truly have no problem paying you $150.

I am local to Austin (In Onion Creek) Email me at jgaddy@mac.com or PM me.... I would love to knock this out asap.

P.S. I really want a pro that depends on their photography as an income.....

Thanks
John

Did you try any calibration hardware tools?

If so, I think you should give Eye One Display 2 a try. It costs you about $210 and you will have a permanent solution for calibration issues.

I could have helped, if you are not so far.

I have tried everything. I have tried the i1 and the spyder with no luck.

Let me explain: I really do not have issue with color as much as I do adjusting blacks whites and midtones. The macs monitor seem to bury the blacks and the gamma point seems to be too high...meaning even when telling it to set a gamma of 2.2 it seems like 2.8.

The overall screen and the user interface on OS X looks as if it should, nothing obvious, but images from my 5D and 7D seem way too dark when viewed on this computer. That is why I mentioned the gamma utility above because when I use that, the images look spot on but that is only changing the monitor gamma....

Anyone on a mac ever run into what I describe?

Thanks
