...a friend in Virginia is asking me, "where is a place for a wedding reception in Austin that doesn't charge $5K?" I don't know of such a place if the to-be-wedded is not a church member. how much is that 5K supposed to cover? the entire reception (food, drinks, cake, dj, place, etc) or just the rental of the building/chairs/tables? how many people is she having? does she want outdoor or indoor? view or downtown? I had my reception at The Austin Club - it's downtown and seats around 200. The rental was somewhere around $1500 and then food and drinks are on top of that (ours was roughly $30/person) Other places I considered were Shoreline Grill (downtown), River Place Country Club, Onion Creek Country Club, Mansion at Judge's Hill. There are tons of places to rent that are less than $5K, it's just the food/drink that will be on top of that. It can certainly be done though! |

I'll tell them.
