McKinney Falls State Park - August? - 08-13-2010, 04:44 PM

Aside from the heat , would McKinney Falls be a good place to visit in the next week or two? Any recommendations, suggestions or alternatives welcome. I want to work on slowing moving water / landscapes.

I haven't been down there in a while, since I live Northwest and it's southeast. But I'd check with the park before going, to see if Onion Creek is actually flowing or not. Sometimes it gets kinda stagnant this time of year. You're probably not looking to photograph pond scum.

May I suggest Pedernales Falls as another spot to look into. Great area to get flowing water and still ponds. IMHO!
