I would suggest you open the box and remove the hard drive, purchase a new standard enclosure, and install your existing drive in the new enclosure. I've done this before with devices that had only USB into a new enclosure that supported both USB and Firewire. It's really pretty simple. You just need to make sure the internal drive interface (ATA or SATA) matches your new enclosure. That's why I recommended removing the drive first so you know which interface you have.
