B&W prints - 02-05-2011, 01:08 PM

Where in Austin can I get proof prints done of medium format negatives? I have a stack of around 50 of them. They're circa end of WWII and taken by my dad's camera so they're kind of delicate and I'm really leery of letting them go to just anyone. I think Precision outsources b&w print work so I'd rather not use them.

TIA for any suggestions.

Have you thought about scanning them.

That may be the best way to go in the long run.

I didn't actually. I just assummed that film scanners I could afford were for 35mm only. Holland Photo let's you rent darkrooms, I may look into that since it might be fun to try that again

Epson has two a 4490 ($109) and a V500 ($149) on clearance right now.

They are refurbs, but they will get the job done.

Printing in the darkroom would be a lot more fun.

Having digital copies is really nice.

Yep, Precision Camera actually sends their B&W to Holland. I've got an Epson V700 that I use for my 120 negs, if you're wanting to scan Pm me and we can work out a deal.
