Head Count for TPF Austin ShootOut 8-6-05 - 07-12-2005, 07:53 PM

Howdy All,

I thought I would try and get a headcount on who is interested in meeting for Breakfast the 6th of August (Saturday Morning) We are looking into several places and want to get reservations so we won't have to stand in line. Also, it would be a good place to "Meet and Greet" and plan different agenda's for the Austin Shoots. I figure if nothing else we can all try and meet back together to Eat and discuss where we went and what we saw and took pictures of .

So, if you think you might be interested in attending Breakfast the morning of the 6th, please post so I can get a count. I would appreciate your answers by the 22nd of July, so we can get reservations in plenty of time.

If anyone in Austin has any special favorites that would accomadate 15-20 people please let me know. So far we are looking into Magnolia Street Cafe and Cats as suggested by Daniel aka Hookem Horns.

I am getting excited, so please let me know!!

The two places are both good. Prices are cheap.

Katz is a sixth street, people watching, NY deli knockoff.

Magnolia Cafe is the laid back, jeans & flip flops, keep austin weird theme.

Food wise...can't go wrong with either. But personally, you'll get more of the "mom made it" from Magnolia. Plus they have outdoor seating with cover. Early a.m. should be fine.

I'm good to meet for bfast with gf in tow. I'll try to convince her to hang around for one venue of shooting but if not it will be nice to meet everyone.

Count me in. Kerbey Lane is another good breakfast place, but I don't know if they can handle a group of 20. There's one on south Lamar and one on 183 depending on what area of town you want to meet at.

Sorry I didn't back to you earlier Craig...it's been a busy couple of weeks for me. Let me know if you need any other help. I'll try to be more attentive now :).

Howdy All,

I am not trying to pin Ya'll down, just trying to get a good estimate, so we can get some space reserved for Breakfast, and then we'll work on lunch and dinner when we get there

I am starting to get really excited about the Shoot. It will be nice to see the Capitol and the City where I was born.

Thanks again for Ya'lls reply.

Two others: 38th and Kerby Lane (small, narrow street) and one across from UT on the drag.

I plan on making breakfast as well. Either place serves up good food!

Is there a definate location plan in place for the group that day? Will we need to bring money for Austin Duck Tour, etc.?

Thanks, and I can certainly help organize if needed.

Howdy All,

Jason, as of yet we are only trying to get together for Breakfast. I figured instead of trying for a rigid schedule of shooting this and that, as time draws closer putting out a list of possible things to shoot along with maps and that way, everyone can shoot what they are interested in and hopefully we can all meet up for lunch and dinner and discuss what we have been up to.

I personally am really looking forward to riding the "Austin Duck"
http://www.austinducks.com/schedule.html

One of the guys(James L.) in the DFW area that I have shot with several times has family in Austin area and has agreed to lead us on a night time Shooting Safari :) hopefully shooting the neat reflections of Town Lake with the city view and the Captiol building.

Marek, Great that you will be able to join us, I look forward to meeting you and hopefully we can shoots some of Austin together. If you have any favorite places that you think others might enjoy please let us know.

TonyKInTexas Consider yourself counted, hope you can make it.

Starting to get close, so if anyone else is interested or thinks they might be able to make it please let me know.

We were rear-ended in Universial City this afternoon. 20D was in the back of the Honda. It appears to be okay. Honda needs to be repaired. I had stopped because of a yield sign and a car that was entering the intersection. Other driver said he never saw me.

And we have not settled the accident from last August when we were hit from behind at a stop sign.

*sigh*

I'll assume everyone is okay.

But remind me to never drive with, behind or near you. You have some bad juju following ya. Hope all the insurance stuff works out too...
