What are the good outdoor locales for a natural light shoot? - 11-13-2007, 02:25 PM

Some friends want me to shoot their family for Christmas cards -- Any suggestions for good outdoor locations? I've read about the hills over the 360 that will allow you to have the 360 in the background, but I have no idea how to get there... anyone?

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

i use sun city outside of georgetown they have tons of streams and waterfalls and bridges
(and lions and tigers and bears;)) really, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained and as long as you don't park on the grass or run over the locals on golf carts they have always allowed me to come and go for portraits-183 to 3405 to 2338 go right to sun city on the left a few miles. hard to miss

OMGosh -- thank you so much!! This sounds exactly like what I was hoping for. Sun City never would have occured to me, either... I thought it gated for some reason.

I'll have to drive out there this weekend... yea!

I live in Sun City, and it's not a gated community. Some of the good places to shoot will be obvious when you drive in -- the stream flowing down along the golf course on your right, for example -- but don't rule out Legacy Hills pond. You get there by turning left just after you cross the bridge. Also, there are some really picturesque places behind the Social Center building. You'd never see those without getting out of the car and walking back there -- nice trees, pond, stream, etc.
