So is there anything going on in Austin this weekend that is photo worthy? I know that there is the Strobist meet on Sunday and the Papparazzi shoot on Friday. Anything else?

The county conventions are being held Sat morning. They're open to the public, and are phase 2 in the Texas primary process. If you're into politics and/or photojournalism this might be an interesting photo op.

I don't know where all the conventions are (Google probably does) but I found the one for Travis county (I'm a precinct delegate, so I'll be there!)

Travis County Exposition Center, Luedecke Arena, 7311 Decker Lane

EDIT: I pulled this link off the Texas Democratic Party website, and it purports to be an unofficial list of all county convention locations: http://www.txdemocrats.org/page/content/countyconvs/

I dunno if anyone remembers the news from the primary elections on March 4, but Texas ended up with record turnout for a primary so there's a good chance any of these conventions will be flooded with passionate people, probably many of whom will be decked out in good ol' Red White and Blue apparel to show their patriotism.

The cap 10k is downtown sunday morning if you want to take pictures of a huge mob of runners. Not sure where would be the best place. It starts by going over the congress avenue bridge.

I remember someone was asking about wineries, so here is a kite flying festival at a winery, Sunday afternoon, with bands and food.
