Need Help in finding locales for casual B&G shots - 04-09-2008, 07:27 AM

Hi, Everyone:

I am a Houston photographer who is shooting a wedding in Austin in May. I am scheduled to shoot some casual pictures of the B&G the weekend of April 12-13. I was hoping that someone could give me some suggestions for some shooting locations around Austin that I could give the B&G to consider. I read many of the comments under the Locales section, but was hoping that someone might have some other suggestions to offer.

I have been to the Domain, and thought that some shots around the courtyard/fountain area might work for some shots, but I'm not sure that the management will let me shoot there. (I shot some pictures of the Cheesecake Factory in OKC last year, and was promptly told by security that "the mall" doesn't allow pictures to be taken on the property). In any case, I'm going to email the Domain and see if there might be a problem. Since these are casual shots, no wedding dress or lots of equipment or anything like that, I'm hopeful that it wouldn't be a problem.

Anyway, I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

I'll second Francis' suggestion. You've got a nice old building, gardens, peacocks, some short hiking trails with a creek and some cool rock overhangs, old stone fences, you can't go wrong at Mayfield Park. Probably even big patches of wildflowers right now.

Thanks for the suggestion. The park sounds like the perfect location. I'll check with the parks department and see what information they might need in advance.

Thanks again. I really appreciate it.
