I'm doing a calendar next weekend for ROT rally raising money Texas Bikers Relief Organization on June 14th. I've got bikes and 20 attractive girls and need a good location where we can have the girls and bikes near the water so Lake Travis is in the background.
Anyone here familiar enough to give me location suggestions?
Also looking for models if you or anyone you know wants to tryout. I'm bringing a model coach from houston and all my lighting gear and reflectors. Wardrobe: boyshorts, chaps, bikini tops or bottoms, booty shorts, haltertops, ripped up jeans, or any mixture of these or anything similar. There will be bikes to pose on and near. I don't want tough biker look I want hot biker girl. Sexy as you wanna be but sassy and stylish.

Probably a ton of places up at Pace bend Park. Not sure what their restrictions are though. If any that is. | | | |

The closest place to town, and also right on a major biking route, is Mansfield Dam Park. It's off of Hwy. 620 between FM2222 and the city of Lakeway. Lots and lots of bikes end up out here during the weekend for the cruise and eating. Carlos and Charlies, Detour, Johnny Fins, and such are right nearby. There is a cove just down the hill from one of the parking lots you could set up in. I've been there for some triathlon swims. You wouldn't have to drag equipment very far. The good is - it's close to town, the bad is - it's close to town, can get crowded with boat launchers lined up to get in.
The next closest park would probably be Pacebend Park, as mentioned. It's out Hwy. 71 at Spicewood. You can drive right down next to the water at a couple of the coves. This becomes a big party park on weekends.
If you go just a couple minutes past the turn-off to Pacebend on Hwy. 71, you get to Paleface Ranch Rd. Turn right and follow it along through a stopsign, and the next right and to the end of that road, you get to Muleshoe Bend Park. If you're looking for a bit more privacy, you can probably have a cove of your own for the weekend here. There are numerous places to drive right to the waters edge. Not usually ever crowded here.

take a look at Bull Creek. the low water crossing might have enough water in it to cover the concrete or there are some places right by the crossing that you can shoot in. I have done cars and a bunch on swim wear down at Bull Creek. Not sure of the conditions right now. that's if it does not have to be Lake Travis.
Windy Point might work.

Hey Gary,
the rally is over, let us know how your shoot went, and which place you finally chose for it.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions. The night on 6th street was crazy outta control. With crowd behavior and the drunk dorks who just wouldn't back up and give us room -gave us less than desirable working conditions. The lake was nice. We decided on Pace Bend Park. I hadn't been there in 10 years but it's still the same. It was a nice location to have the girls and the bikes near the water. Though, the 7 little kids just had to bring their pales and shovels and sit 7' feet away. I think every great photo i had to photo-edit 3 or 4 kids out out the photos. Here is how things turned out here in austin and next week I'll be in houston for another round. Thanks everybody, I'm going to be posting here more often and let me know how i can help any of you. Thanks.

Hey Gary, good to hear from you again. I was wondering which park you ended up choosing. One thing I thought of, if any of your models are local and looking for more work, you might make their contact info available to the folks here on TPF, so they could be assured of getting contacted by legit photogs. You know, if they've got an OMP or Model Mayhem number.
