Don't think that taking your camera protects you! I went in white, came out mostly red! I loved it. Next year I'm getting one of the rain protectors for my camera to keep the powder off of it. That way I can jump right in!

I hope that stuff isn't too sticky, looking at it on the inside of that lens makes you wonder. I saw this festival in a movie recently, but I didn't know we had one around here. Thanks for the photos.

No it's just a powder. I still find a little of the red on my camera bag occasionally though! My friend Rathan was my guide for this one as I don't know much about Hinduism. He told me that some places allow them to add water to the powder and that's a real mess! Make sure before you go to one of these you're prepared! I will use one of the plastic rain protectors for my camera next time.

I'm the typical American. I don't know much outside of my culture. My friend Rathan is from India and has been here three years. It's great to pick his brain. I had more fun at this Festival than I've had in a long time. They welcomed me and treated me as one of their own. I recommend it to all.

Here's a couple of pics that Rathan took of me. You can see they had no mercy!

This does not look like a place for B&W photographers.
