South Manchaca - 04-13-2009, 07:37 AM

So I'm driving south on Manchaca and I get past William Cannon and look to my left where there's a field between two housing developments (before Dittmar) and I see:

Totally cracked me up and made my day. Anyone know anything about them? Or who put them there? They're brilliant!

We're guessing bass, but really it's anybody's guess. There was a bird out there too with a giant tail. Fun to see though. It's inspiring my husband, who does sculpture, to respond with some anonymous art of his own. :)

Looks like a bass or cello to me, too.

Pretty neat!

I saw it Saturday afternoon on my way home from the air show and noticed out in the field and figured someone was working on keeping Austin weird. ;-)
