Photography cooperatives?

I am wondering if there are any photography cooperatives in Houston? I was reading this article in the NYtimes and I saw this quote: "...there seems to be a kind of artistic renaissance under way as various groups, like photography cooperatives and drawing collectives, form to connect creative professionals with one another." I was intrigued by the idea and wanted to learn more, but an online search revealed little information.

Thanks for sharing the article Victoria. I was hoping it would offer suggestions on developing business during economic downturns. It seemed to focus on how to maintain motivation in a creative sense. A number of artists in the article worked part-time or in administrative position for an organization that emphasized art. The article did provide insight the value of art when the economy is down.
